Yoga is much more than a workout, it is a practice of self transformation in pursuit of collective liberation.
Islay believes that a sustainable yoga practice is one that includes all the subtle aspects of our identity – practicing with the body, energy, mind, and wisdom. Her workshops and specialty classes are crafted in partnership with the host community, and are simultaneously delicate and challenging. In the longer format of a workshop, enjoys incorporating topics such as Patanjali’s 8-Limbs of Yoga, the Vedic Kosha System, and yogic and Indian texts.
Below is a list of upcoming workshops. If you’re interested in inviting Islay to provide a workshop at your studio, contact her here.

From there, postures are paired with myo-fascia release techniques to directly target the deeper tissues of the body. Throughout class, students will come to their appropriate edge, be still and soft in the muscles, and hold shapes for a longer period of time – sometimes up to 10 minutes! Deep Yin ends with a luxurious savasana, leaving students feeling restored and rejuvenated.
The Deep Yin practice increases circulation and improves flexibility, leaving students feeling more comfortable in the tissues of their body and with a quieter mind.
