Yoga is more than the pursuit of physical postures; it is a practice of self inquiry meant to dissolve the limitations of the mind in realization of one’s true nature.

Islay Taylor (she/her) is an ever-learning embodiment and mindfulness enthusiast. She is dedicated to providing an accessible space for students to explore their authentic experience. She believes that yoga asana is a physical lens through which to explore yogic philosophy and concepts. The mind is the gateway to self transformation, and it is through self transformation that we can achieve collective liberation.

Her weekly classes and workshops are intelligently designed to improve flexibility, build strength and resilience; while empowering students to cultivate a sense of curiosity about their unique experiences. Honoring individuality, she teaches from a functional perspective ~ each class is a personal practice that just happens to be in a community setting. She facilitates an equitable platform for students to celebrate personal agency while making mindful decisions that are right for them.

Islay has over 1,000 hours of yoga study; she received her 200hr teaching certification in 2017, and her 300hr certification in 2022. She is a registered E-RYT200 / RYT500 / YACEP provider. Her teaching focuses on mindfulness and subtle inquiry, functional anatomy and mechanics, inclusivity and accessibility, and yoga philosophy. She continues her yoga journey through education, exploring yogic texts, being in sangha with other seekers, and maintaining a personal practice.
